"The founder of Holy Child HS School was the Late.Sri Ajit Kumar Purkayastha. A man of great vision he established the school in the year 1993. The school started with a mere 125 students and within a span of a few years increased to over a thousand earning a name as one of the premier institutions of Silchar. The aim of Sri.Ajit Kumar Purkayastha was to impart the best possible education to even the most economically backward families thereby enabling them to rise in life to their full potential in this modern world. Under his leadership and guidance the school blossomed like a well nurtured plant. Sri.Ajit Kumar Purkayastha passed away in 2004 leaving a huge void in the lives of many but his dedicated legacy lives on in our hearts."
